Hydro-Gas Couplings was founded on the 26 June 1963. The company started off by manufacturing a range of dry break couplings serving the Oil, Petroleum and Tanker Industries. In 1983 Karl Häring purchased Hydro-Gas Couplings. Shortly thereafter, we started to manufacture a range of Pneumatic, Manual Lubrication and Liquid Transfer Equipment to be able to serve a broader spectrum of the industry.
The company started in Booysens Reserve in rented premises where we remained until 1990 when we moved to our own premises in Wadeville, Germiston to a 2000 sqm factory.
Over the years, the emphasis shifted from Dry Break Couplings to Lubrication & Liquid Transfer Equipment – which has become our core business and to better identify with that market segment we registered ‘LUBECONSULT’ as a trade name while HYCO is the registered trademark of our equipment.
With our equipment 75 % of which is wholly South African manufactured.
Manual Lubrication we supply a wide segment of industry in Southern Africa and selected overseas market from mining, construction, agriculture, fishing and general as well as certain O.E.M’s direct and through a very efficient network of distributors.
To be able to offer a complete range serving these markets we import accessories such as Grease Nipples, Drip Feed Oilers, Oil Level Gauges and Pneumatic Quick Couplers from a number of sources in Europe.
We also import a range of Semi Rotary wing Pumps YL series and Full Rotary – MS25 series.
Hydro-Gas has become one of the leading manufacturers in the markets we serve.
During July 2018 Karl Häring sadly passed away and the company is now managed by Debbie and Craig Häring who continue to maintain quality standards of our lubrication equipment which is widely used in all kinds of industries and equipment.
